A Welcome Message from the Executive Dean, Professor Sudesh Rathilal

 

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Faculty of Engineering, the Built Environment and Technology (EBET) at Nelson Mandela University. I am Professor Sudesh Rathilal, the Executive Dean of this dynamic and forward-thinking faculty.

At EBET, we are committed to excellence in teaching, research, and innovation. We combine top-class facilities, cutting-edge technologies, and stimulating, industry-relevant training to produce graduates who are not only knowledgeable and skilled, but also adaptable and in demand across various sectors.

Our faculty offers a diverse and exciting range of programmes, including:

  • Civil, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, Marine Engineering, and Mechatronics
  • Information Technology and Applied Informatics
  • Quality and Operations Management
  • Building and Human Settlement Development, Quantity Surveying, and Construction Management
  • Architecture, Architectural Technology, and Interior Design

These programmes are housed within four vibrant schools:

Where applicable, all programmes are accredited by their relevant professional bodies, reflecting our commitment to academic excellence and industry alignment.
